Following is my executive summary of the report:
The purpose of this report is to identify a key trend in retailing development, and its impact on the retail sector. In order to evaluate and analysis this issue intensively, real life examples and evidences are selected and focused on three main areas: 1) what is the key trend in retailing? -----Technological retailing; 2) Advantages of technology for retailing are given in the report (Take RFID as an example) ; 3) and how this trend will impact on retail mix, mainly in customers, promotion and retailing services. Examples are not only based on academic journals, experts’ ideas but also from “retailsmartresults” website and twitter to identify a particularly trend, and how it will influence the retailing industry in the future development. According to these findings, retailers should pay more attention to the trend and make use of it to serve the retail business to help and improve their retail business.

Executive summary
Introduction
In contemporary business world, there are more and more requirements for retailing industry from consumers, due to life styles and shopping habits are changed. Under the background of unstable policy, economy and retail fronts, successful retailers are focused on technology which is the key trend in future retailing development to provide high quality products and services, innovation to earn customers’ loyalty (Rogut. J, 2007, p.6). In traditional retailing, some negative factors presented in the business, such as: theft, lost, inventory problem and so on. However, with the development of technology, digital kiosk, vending machine, digital signage, in-store television, RFID, and self-checkout are applying to retailing industry which is a key trend of retailing. The key term, retail, means the sale of goods or commodities in shops directly to consumers. The term, trend, can be defined as “a general tendency or direction in the way a situation is changing or developing” (OED). Technological can be explained as relating to or involving technology, especially scientific technology. Retailing development relies on technology which is a key trend to gain the customers’ loyalty, compete with competitors and better management. In order to find out the trend and its influences on retailing, the report is distributed by three parts, which particularly are 1) key trend in retailing-----Technological retailing; 2) Advantages of RFID for retailing; 3) and RFID and retail mix, mainly in customers, promotion and retailing services.
