Vending Machines

Saturday, April 24th 2010 @ 11:42 PM    post viewed 157 times

Through technological advancements, the growth and vended volume has seen an increasing trend. The profound impact and accompanying evolvements since the early introduction of vending machines has transformed the traditional distribution channel.

Technological advancements include new payment systems, point-collection systems, mini-billboards and advertisings, service offerings, and a host of other technological innovations. These innovations have made it possible for vending machines to be used as an extended distribution channel for not only food and beverage products (e.g. snacks, can drinks, sandwiches, etc.), but also being able to vend a huge range of products and services including the retail of iPods, expensive perfumes, fresh apples, renting of DVDs, softwares, electronics, and even the vending of entire mini-mart worth of products.

When i saw my first vending machine, I thought it was the work of god. :-) such an ingenious way to access products. I think your topic is extremely interesting. esp since vending machines have been constantly upgraded with new technological advances. And if retailers appropriately harvest this trend, it could develop into an amazing distribution system.

I am extremely curious about how vending machines might be in the future...!

Loved your topic, Colin!

Vending machine is somewhat that amazing! It’s very convenience to buy and easy to find in public place. I used to see the awesome vending machine in Japan, you know, you can find everything from it such as cup noodle or ramen, flower bouquet and even eggs..:p

I’m the one who’s waiting to see that what kind of products that I can find from the vending machine. It can be jewelry, a car or a house, who knows!!

Interesting Topic, Colin :-)
